In Austin, inside a big red box shaped building is a children’s museum called The Thinkery that inspires every curious bone in Kalamata’s body. Directly next to it is a bright, sunny Italian eatery called L’Oca D’Oro that inspires her passion for pasta. The lasagna is particularly special to Kalamata, served with a rich meatball ragu, fresh creamy ricotta, and a pine nut pesto. Mama is still trying to get her lasagna this perfect at home.

"Sunday lunch is fun because it’s the only time they have sandwiches on the menu. Since they told me that L’Oca D’Oro means “golden goose”, I knew I had to try the sandwich named Goose on the menu. It has Italian meats served on a bread called schiacciata, which is squashed flat like Al Dente when Mama sits on him by mistake."
