Oyamel Cocina Mexicana
The words that Kalamata uses to describe Oyamel are vibrant and authentic. The inside is nice and bright, and Kalamata loves the artistic creatures on the servers’ t-shirts. On her last visit, she shared plantain and squash fritters, a chicken tamal (with a hint of chocolate!) and ordered her own special agua frescas made with fresh juices. On a dare, Al tried the sautéed grasshoppers and loved them so much, he ate the whole plate.The best part? A squishy, spongy tres leches cake for dessert.
