It all started when Derek Wallace, a busy dad, was looking for a way to share his passion for food and new experiences with his young son. He had an idea, and with a fruitful call to friend and sommelier, Sarah Thomas, Kalamata and her kitchen were dreamed up, and the rest is delicious history.

Meet Kalamata & Al Dente
Kalamata is a fearless Food Adventurer who’s curious, courageous and compassionate. She has a goal to try each new food at least two times, but would easily try them all 100 times if she could. She’s always joined by her stuffed alligator pal, Al Dente, who comes to life in her imagination. He's always ready to dip his tail into the next exciting Food Adventure.
